Successful volunteering such a reward

Have you ever been a mentor? It is the most rewarding and truly right way to volunteer. I have had the honor to mentor a young lady since she was 15 years old when we met at a Latina Empowering conference where I was a volunteer speaker addressing positive life growth and choices 7 years ago. This week she graduated from a prestigious University, and along her journey she became my mentor and what I have learned is priceless. Why share this, because I have learned valuable lessons.

As I continue to volunteer on days when the media reports are negative and individuals are not in the positive, I realize yes one person can make the difference and we all need to learn “pay it forward” without ever expecting a pay back.

Have a day filled with rainbow light! grin

Designing a Successful 2009!

As we enter a new year of overwhelming proportions for each of us, there is so much to be thankful for in our daily lives.  We are witnessing firsthhand change within ourselves and the nation and must know we are ready for that journey.  The steps we take to design a successful day, month and year will depend on how we take care of ourselves first and foremost.  As women it is hard to take time for ourselves, but I will share in 2009 I will dedicate time to my happiness in order to be a better person overall.

I began my 2009 journey to “play” more and to bring in the new year by shouting out my intentions with a “2009 vision board”.  I had the pleasure of beginning my successful journey by attending a workshop designed by Deborah Deras, M.S., ALSP to bring clarity to healthy and successful intentions.  It is critial to understand we should never feel guilty or uncomfortable to express our wishes for healthy financial prosperity and wellness, because if we do not say it out loud how can we achieve what is needed in our lives?  To be the volunteer each and every day, I must have this intention fulfilled and like you, I will!

May I encourage you to attend such a workshop given by Deborah Deras, M.S., ALSP, to address the person within yourself and how you want to live a life of success and healthy happiness, which will carry over to those you love and bring service to each day.  http://www.passionatelivingnow.com

My goal is to be healthy, live well and to continue to be the mentor I design to be for those I serve each day.  grin

Live well and laugh hard, it is addictive!!
